Garry Paton has produced an array of successful short films including THE CULL (starring Steve Evets, dir: Jonathan Harris) — Best British Short Nominee at Edinburgh International Film Festival; THE CROSSING (starring Cavan Clerkin, dir: Jack King) — Best British Short Nominee at Leeds International Film Festival; LONDONSTANI (dir: Nirpal Bhogal) — which was long-listed for a BIFA; and British Council and BFI backed NOWHERE (starring Israel Ophir Award Winner Mouna Hawa), an LGBTQI+ Palestinian co-production shot in the Middle East which has its International Premiere at Tramline Film Festival.

In 2016 Garry was selected for Creative England’s Creative Producer Initiative then in 2018, he was selected for Edinburgh International Film Festival’s Talent Lab and in 2019 was selected by BAFTA and BFI for the FLARE Mentorship, supported by Oscar and BAFTA winning producer, Iain Canning. Garry is now exec producing at Finite Productions whilst running video production company, Content Chemistry.

Carys evans

Carys Evans is a Scottish producer working in scripted film. She has produced numerous BFI:NETWORK funded short films that have screened at Academy and BAFTA qualifying festivals including; A90 (dir. Olivia J. Middleton) Aesthetica Short Film Festival, Glasgow Short Film Festival, Indy Shorts International Film Festival, Norwich Film Festival. YOU LAND (dir. Debora Maité) BAFTA Scotland Nominated, Torino Film Festival, Tirana Film Festival, Norwich Film Festival, Cairo International Film Festival. 

Her latest short, STATIC (dir. Miranda Stern), a deeply personal drama starring Screen Daily Star of Tomorrow Lucy Halliday, was executive produced by NFTS and BBC Film and premiered at Edinburgh International Film Festival. She is an alumnus of the International Film Festival Rotterdam Producer’s lab, and has a Diploma in Producing from the National Film and Television School. 

She is focussed on working closely with writers and directors, crafting scripts and collaborating to find the best creative approach to telling a story. She is interested in deep character dramas that deftly utilise other genre conventions.
